APPLICATIONS ARE NOW AVAILABLE FOR FULTON COUNTY CHAMBER SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Applications are now available for the Fulton County Regional Chamber of Commerce & Industry 2012 scholarship program. Application is available in a .pdf document above. For 2012, the Chamber will award five $1,000 academic scholarships to deserving applicants who are Fulton County high school seniors, or who have graduated from a Fulton County high school. These scholarship awards will be presented at the Chamber’s annual Student Recognition Breakfast scheduled for Wednesday, May 2, 8:00 a.m. at Fulton-Montgomery Community College, Johnstown.
Eligible applicants must be seniors graduating from a Fulton County high school in June 2012 or previous graduates of a Fulton County high school, and must be entering or attending a two- or four-year accredited college or university as of August, 2012.
Award recipients will be chosen by the Chamber’s Scholarship Committee, comprised of Chairman Dr. Dustin Swanger, (FMCC); Jack Scott (WENT-AM 1340); Larry Kelly (Nathan Littauer Hospital & Nursing Home) and Judge Richard C. Giardino. These committee members will review applicants’ qualifications in scholastic achievement, community involvement, school activities, and economic need. Applicants are asked to submit a 500-word essay explaining their career goals and why the scholarship is important to them.

Applications also are available in Fulton County high school guidance offices. Deadline for receipt by the Chamber of completed applications and accompanying materials is Friday, April 6, 2012 at 5:00 PM.
Since its inception 22 years ago, the Chamber’s scholarship program has provided over $80,000 in scholarship awards to Fulton County High school students. These scholarships are funded each year through the Chamber’s annual Fulton County Scholarship Golf Tournament, this year scheduled for Wednesday, August 15 at two area golf courses. Details about the golf tournament will be available in the coming months.
