Ad Hoc Committees
STANDING COMMITTEES:
Governmental Affairs/Advocacy
Examines local and state issues and works with local elected officials
acting as their liaison to the business community. Formulates opinions
on local issues and promotes them through communications with member
businesses and the community.
Political Action Committee
The mission of the Political Action Committee of the Fulton County
Regional Chamber of Commerce & Industry is to foster, encourage and
support the highest quality public sector leadership through the support
of pro-business candidates. The PAC’s objective is intended to
compliment the ongoing programs and activities of the Fulton County
Regional Chamber of Commerce & Industry in the areas of public policy
research, advocacy, communications with local and state elected
officials, screening and endorsement of candidates for public office,
and related matters.
Membership Retention & Development
Helps recruit and retain Chamber members; works to help members become
more involved with the Chamber and its programs and services; helps new
members network at events. Coordinates the efforts of the Chamber
Ambassador’s Club.
AD-HOC COMMITTEES
First Night Fulton County Committee
Works year-round to finance and coordinate First Night Fulton County, a
non-alcoholic celebration of the New Year held in the downtowns of the
cities of Johnstown and Gloversville and in the surrounding Fulton
County communities.
Scholarship Committee
Implements the Chamber’s Scholarship program, reviewing applications and
awarding five $1,000 scholarships to Fulton County high school seniors.
These scholarship awards are presented at the Chamber’s annual Student
Recognition Breakfast held in May
Sports Award Committee
Coordinates and promotes the Chamber’s annual Sports Award Banquet
honoring more than 150 of Fulton County high school’s top athletes;
chooses a Male and Female Athlete of the Year.
